A breath, held still—
the moment before the world divides.
Behind me, the hush of all I have been,
the weight of paths already walked.
Ahead, the vast unwritten—
branches threading into air,
a thousand futures,
a thousand selves.
Time lingers here,
in this hush of almost.
Antlers of possibility rise from my brow,
each curve a question,
each split a promise.
Upon them perch small prophets,
feathered arbiters of fate,
their wings whispering arguments,
their songs tilting the balance
between staying and becoming.
Choice is not yet made.
It shimmers—
a pool unbroken,
a silence unspoken.
And I, caught within it,
am both the root and the blossom,
both the bird and the branch,
both the past that clings
and the future that waits.
When the moment breaks,
there will be no return.
But for now—
for now,
I am infinite.
